Tuna Kush
This Tuna Kush Indica Dominant Hybrid strain, aka “Tuna OG,” is a descendant of the notorious OG Kush. This 70% indica dominant hybrid’s fishy name has earned it some interesting reviews. However, these reviews are likely more influenced by the name than the smell of Tuna Kush. The true aroma of this dense, terpene-rich cannabis is that of fresh, salty seaweed. It is undeniably prominent, hinting at freshly sliced Tuna sashimi, whose flavour is much mellower than its aroma. This is beautifully balanced with spicy, earthy tastes and scents with a wonderfully blended high to boot.
Sativa lovers will enjoy the heady, imagination-stimulating phenotypes. These slowly usher in the dreamy, relaxing body buzz that earns Tuna Kush cannabis strain rave reviews from Indica lovers. “Tuna OG” is a great all-around night-time smoke that will kick off a relaxing, euphoric wind-down after a long day.
Appearance
Shaped like spicy peppers, Tuna Kush buds are long and dense, layered with mostly pale and light green leaves, contrasted with a few dark forest greens and rust-coloured pistils weaving in and out. The sticky flowers are generously coated in opaque, white trichome crystals that lock in the Tuna Kush cannabis strain’s skunky, diesel-infused aromas.

What is a Hybrid Strain?
A Hybrid strain refers to any combination of Sativa or Indica Strains. These strains offer more balanced Cannabis effects. Additionally, they make it much easier for Cannabis users to customize their experience. As a result, they appeal to a much wider spectrum of Cannabis users. By combining the invigorating and energizing effects of a Sativa with the pain-relieving and muscle-relaxing effects of an Indica, these strains offer the best of both worlds.
The Science of it All
Although mother nature has done most of the work for us, modern-day strains are mostly a design project. The cross-breeding of any plant species involves the same basic processes, and Cannabis is no exception. To crossbreed plant strains, female plants must receive pollen from their male counterparts. However, out in the wild, this happens naturally, usually only between the same strains of Cannabis.
In creating new and exciting Hybrids, like Tuna Kush, growers carefully select their cross strains and breed them in a controlled environment. They can dictate which traits from each strain will end up combined in the final product. The seeds from these plants will then become First Generation Hybrids. These new plants will then be bred over and over again to help increase these desired traits.
Choosing a Hybrid Strain
Indica dominant, Sativa dominant or true Hybrid, there are unlimited possibilities and combinations to choose from. So how are you supposed to know which strain is right for you? Consider what you’re using Cannabis for.
If you need pain relief but aren’t looking for heavy sedation, Sativa-dominant Hybrids might be right for you. If you’re looking to relax without the added psychoactive effects, try using an Indica-dominant strain. It is important to remember that not all strains affect all users in the same way.
When choosing a Hybrid strain, look for the balance that is right for your individual Cannabis needs. We always recommend that you start low and go slow. In other words, start with a small dosage and increase slowly as needed until you find the balance that is right for your needs.

My second favourite Kush strain next to Kosher Kush for obvious reasons. This Tuna has a crazy strong buzz and is one of the best melling buds I’ve had lately. You can really see the care of the grow in the buds, kudos guys. I grabbed some of this and the Bluefin Tuna and they were both excellent, would recommend them both for sure.
